Warholm Defeated in OsloKarsten Warholm of Norway, the world record holder over 400m hurdles, was defeated today, May 30, by Brazil’s Alison dos Santos at the Oslo Diamond League meet.The red-hot favorite was off to his usual fast start, but dos Santos pulled alongside him in the home straight. Warholm’s foot then hit a hurdle, which caused the three-time world champion to stumble and quickly regain his composure. However, it was too late; dos Santos crossed the line in a world-leading 46.63secs. Warholm finished in a season’s best and his fastest season opener 46.70. Said the winner after the race: “No one is safe. No one has their own home where you’re safe there.”The 2023 world silver medalist, Kyron McMaster of the British Virgin Islands, was third in 48.49
