After capping off her University o f Alabama (UA) career in impressive form, Grenadian quarter-miler Trish Bartholomew went on to represent her country in the 400m at the Beijing Olympics in August and placed fifth in round one of the heats in 52.88 secs.
In her senior year at UA (2007-08), the psychology major earned her second NCAA runner-up finish with a personal best of 51.29 secs. at the NCAA outdoor championships. She won the NCAA Mideast Regional 400m title in 51.58 secs. and placed fifth in the 200m in 23.12 secs. She was also the SEC indoor 400m Champion, the NCAA runner-up at the indoor national championships where she earned All-American honors, and now ranks first all-time at Alabama in the indoor 400m with 52.10 secs.
As a junior (2006-07), Bartholomew earned All-American accolades after running a personal best of 52.17 in the 400m at the NCAA Championships, which makes the fourth fastest quarter mile run at UA.
Trish, 22, is the daughter of Martin and Patricia Bartholomew She has one brother and two sisters.
