Ackeem Blake of Jamaica had a decisive win in the 60m race at the New Balance Grand Prix in Boston today.

It was his second time competing in the city and he said he felt good about it. “I like the environment,” he noted. Blake also said he has to focus on execution and doing what he has to do.

“I know my coach is proud of me; he never pressures me but always tells me to have fun.”

Blake pointed to one of his assets: “I have a great start and will be running a lot of indoors this year.” The goal, he added, is to get back to the World indoor Championships. “My mental health is good, and my body and everything is on point. New York [is] next week, so I’ll be there.”

The 24-yr-old 2024 World Indoor bronze medalist and 2024 100m Diamond League champion recently signed with ON, a Swiss sportswear brand. He is the first Jamaican athlete to sign with ON and noted that it means lot to him as he intends to represent the brand and his country well. Results
