Jamaica’s sprint hurdler Danielle Williams struck again today.

After setting a world-leading indoor time (7.94secs) in the women’s 60-meter hurdles to win gold at the Clemson Invitational indoor track and field meet January 10, the two-time World outdoor champion over 100m hurdles lowered that world-lead to 7.87 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston. She defeated the indoor world record holder Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, Christina Clemons of the USA, and Meagan Simmons of Jamaica.

Inn a post-race interview at trackside, Williams told the crowd that she felt good. “I was just excited to get out here and get back into competition and just try to run a good race and have fun,” she said. “I came out with a season best, and that was always the goal. I definitely have to watch it to see if I hit all the things I was working on, but it felt good.”

Williams noted that moving forward, she would try to get, to as perfect as possible, what she and her coach have been working on. Before competing at the Millrose Games in New York City, Sunday, February 1. Results
